“The police are custodians of law and order, but they are openly violating the model code of conduct. The picture of lotus on the wall of a police station signifies that they are campaigning for a certain political party (read BJP),” said Pankaj Vishwakarma, mukhia of Dandai block’s Raro panchayat.
Vishwakarma also said he had complained to the BDO, Sunil Kumar Singh, about the matter earlierBut he did not pay heed to it.
Dandai police in-charge Ram Avatar said that the picture of lotus was not drawn on the wall on the instruction of any police official. “It was a painter who had unknowingly drawn the picture. We got it removed now,” he said.
